Scylla acquires “Six Steps to Survival” from Amalia Stone
Scylla Publishing has acquired the space opera novella from Amalia Stone for publication in March 2027.
“Six Steps to Survival” explores the world of modern slavery and resistance through the eyes of Kate, a mother who has lost her family and is fighting back, and her adopted daughter Benita, who has a complicated relationship with a space pilot named Pod while fighting tooth and nail for freedom.
We’ll have more details about the book in coming months, but we want to welcome Amalia to the Scylla family!
The Monstrous & The Divine opens for submissions
Scylla Publishing’s second anthology, due for publication in February 2027, will be “The Monstrous & The Divine” with editor Nicole Field, with subs from May 1 to July 31, 2026.
Nicole brought the project about a sapphic reimagining of goddesses and monsters from existing mythology to Scylla, and she says the idea “took hold of her and wouldn’t let go”.
