Why publish with us? Read our Author Submission FAQ.

We’re seeking:

  • Speculative fiction with Sapphic MCs. All romances/main couples/sex must be WLW (poly is fine if there is WLW).

  • Genres: Space Opera, Steampunk, Adventure Fantasy/SciFi, Dystopian, Cyberpunk, Literary Fantasy, Contemporary Fantasy, Military Fantasy/SciFi, Urban Fantasy, Romantic Fantasy, Epic/High Fantasy, Low Fantasy, Weird, Gothic Horror, and Paranormal.

  • Genre crossovers, and work that plays with and/or subverts genre conventions. We welcome your weird.

  • Well-crafted settings, engaging characters, and compelling conflicts/challenges. We are looking for books that have complex plots and an un-put-downable narrative drive.

  • Works that are for the Adult market.

  • Works that reflect the diversity of our world, and other worlds.

  • We will consider works that began as fan fiction, but they must be identified as such, removed from the web/AO3/anywhere else prior to submission, and unrecognisable from the IP/source material. (Basically, nobody should be able to tell unless YOU told them.)

  • Previously published or self-published sapphic works, if you own the rights and wish to re-issue/re-print.

Additional submission notes:

  • All subs will be read and will receive a response via e-mail.

  • Queries that do not meet the submission formatting guidelines will be sent back with a note asking for adherence to the guidelines before resubmission. Please think of our eyes as we often read late at night :)

  • We take submissions directly from un-agented authors as well as from agents.

  • Our response time is currently 8-12 weeks. Please note that no critiques or feedback are included in passes unless we are looking to get you to bring the work to a higher editorial standard prior to re-engagement.

  • We can’t work with first drafts. You should have beta readers and/or developmental editors have a look first before coming to us. Manuscripts must be completed.

  • Simultaneous submissions are allowed. Please let us know if your submission has been picked up by another publisher.

Hard sells:

Not in our immediate target area, but we could be persuaded by the right book:

  • LitRPG, Hard SciFi, Grimdark - If you have something sapphic…hmm, could be fun. We love these books, and there are publishers who specialise in these and we respect their work, but we will struggle to effectively edit or market books in these genres.

  • Romantasy - This is a subgenre trad publishing is behind right now even for Sapphics, but if yours isn’t just a sapphic retelling of a famous heterocentric book or well trodden tropes and is something the big trad publishers wouldn’t pick up we would like to see it. If you are romantic fantasy rather than romance and aren’t sure of the line (it blurs!) just send it. We’ll let you know.

NOT seeking:

  • Non-fiction, Young Adult, New Adult, picture books, or children’s works.

  • Pure erotica/porn.

  • Works with unexamined homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, and/or any other bigotry.

  • Underage or non consensual.

  • Works produced and/or edited fully or partially using generative AI will NOT be considered. In fact, go to a galaxy far far away with that crap.
