Scylla is an emerging publisher with a small team with creative, writing, art, and marketing skills and qualifications.

We are committed to championing sapphic works and sapphic authors.

V (Veronica) Holmes

Founder and Publisher

V has a twenty-year background in corporate and technology marketing, and has been a business owner and entrepreneur for the past decade. Before that she was a lesbian radical, but it seems so long ago (she’s still a lesbian, just not as radical).

V has an MA in Creative Writing from Macquarie University. For Scylla, she works as commissioning editor and specialises in book marketing, editing, and public relations. She is passionate about amplifying queer voices, and rather inordinately obsessed with Motherland: Fort Salem.

Her debut urban fantasy novel “Gift of the Valkyrie” is forthcoming in 2026.

Hi! I am a queer disabled writer, essayist, and designer who is dedicated to uplifting marginalised authors.

Ella T. Holmes doesn’t write to escape the world, she pokes holes in the one we've got and asks why we can't do better. Ella maintains corporeal existence by patting cats, writing, and engaging in Disability Justice advocacy. Her work has been published in Aurealis, Antithesis, and The Bitchin' Kitsch, among others.

She has a BA in Graphic Design and Marketing, as well as a post-graduate qualification in Writing, Editing, and Publishing.
